The Care range of cough and cold medicines is comprehensive, offering remedies from Glycerins and Simple Linctus’ to Decongestant Liquids and Cold and Flu Relief Tablets.

Colds are infectious until the symptoms have gone which is usually in one to two weeks.[1] If a patient’s cold has not improved after three weeks or if they suddenly get worse, if breathing becomes difficult or if chest pains develop, the patient should be advised to see a GP.

Chesty coughs tend to be felt in the chest, are triggered by excess mucus and sometimes called ‘productive’ coughs, whereas dry, tickly coughs are due to inflammation of the upper airways, can be painful and are felt in the throat. They are sometimes described as ‘hacking’.

Treatments for coughs depend on whether it is a chesty or dry cough.
